I have a new rule for communicating with people I like or may end up feeling strongly about: - Every 4th text or email, I pick up the phone and deal with the message en personne.
I'm not making the mistake again of starving a relationship of oxygen by letting it bog down into death-by-alphabet.
- I love writing and I love hiding behind words and I far prefer to send words than brave actual voice confrontations ... but that way lies a slow death.
- And every 6th or 7th alphabet communiqué, I pick up the phone and ask for a face-2-face meet within the next day or two. And it invariably works.
- Let's all keep our friendships real and in good repair
