The Plame Outing - Buckley speaks

When the magisterial William F. Buckley comments, I for one listen.

"In the swirl of the Libby affair, one loses sight of the real offense, and it becomes almost inapprehensible what it is that Cheney/Libby/Rove got themselves into."

Interesting use of "inapprehensible".

What is "inapprehensible" is the difficulty those on the right are having in understanding the significance of obstruction of justice. Pat Fitzgerald explained, with great passion, that obstruction makes it impossible for the system to work in a case such as the Plame investigation. I would expect this from Kay Bailey Hutchinson, but not from Buckley.
