princess beatrice #2

Beatrice of York

~ "Scooting around" ~

Put it down to the Royalist in me but I'm a sucker for even the most trivial blue-blooded natter.

That slinky hottie over there is none other than Princess Beatrice, fruit of the loins of HRH the Duke of York and Duchess "Fergie " of Weight Watchers.

And what an alluring siren our Beatrice has turned into, to be sure. The slim line spitting image of mum, what? And those gorgeous Titian locks.

I'm not surprised Tatler nabbed her for their September issue.

I've rather lost touch with what her parents are up to (tho' I did pop along to that Nordie's tea party many moons back when Fergie was talking up their range of fine bone china).

duke of yorkHandsome devil, Andrew: born 19 February 1960, second son and third sprog of Her Majesty, not to mention first child to be born to a reigning monarch for 103 years.

Well I never, but what a gloomy comment on life on the throne.

'Randy' Andy - Andrew Albert Christian Edward, to give him his full nomenclature - was known as Prince Andrew until his marriage, when he was created The Duke of York, Earl of Inverness and Baron Killyleagh.

(Don't say you don't get the full trivia monty when you visit chez Busker.)

So ... our principessa is sweet 17 on Monday, 8th of the 8th. A lucky combo out East for having the same pronunciation in Cantonese as 'to make money'.

"Not a stereotypical princess," she wants us to know, although the way she describes her life is splendidly typical of how all well-bred young gels talk:

"A lot of it is quite normal, scooting around the supermarket with a shopping trolley and things like that ... [Royal grandma] Her Majesty the Queen is "the most amazing woman anyone could ever meet" ... [whom she] "loved to bits."
Shouldn't that read "loves" in the present tense?

Anyway, super to see the House of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha - whoops, I mean Windsor - boasting a "looker" for a change after all those equine-featured chinless wonders.
