I just think it captures the whole posturing gesturing headline hogging media mauling of the Pope's last days - and onward.

If John Paul had got wind of the circus his dying was fostered, he'd have risen from that sick bed and driven the reptiles from the temple - or popped off a lot sooner just to deprive the rabble from milking it further.

And what about Il fatso Duce's uniform? The last time I set eyes on one even resembling its sleek noire-ness was on a Dennis Wheatley/Gregory Sallust thriller about some occult Nazi plot to overrun the Home Counties.
